My path: from neurosurgeon to neuroscience expert

I have walked the path myself and changed my life

1. childhood in Syria & move to Germany

I grew up in Syria and realized early on that success is no coincidence. I wasn’t given opportunities as a gift – I had to work for them. My environment showed me that our thinking either slows us down or inspires us.
I came to Germany in 2002 without knowing the language. But I had a clear goal: to study medicine. The new culture, the foreign language – it was all a huge challenge. I quickly learned that my mental attitude made the difference between success and failure.

I started my medical studies in 2004.

Studying was already challenging for native speakers, but in a newly learned language it was a double test. Not only did I have to master the medical content, I also had to master the language at an academic level. It was here that I realized that if you train your brain consistently and work in a structured way, you can achieve the seemingly impossible. This realization was the beginning of my deep interest in the mechanisms of mental performance.

2011 – Specialist training in neurosurgery

In 2011, I began my specialist training in neurosurgery – one of the most demanding and intensive medical disciplines. For seven years, I spent countless nights in the operating room, had to make clear decisions under extreme pressure and call on my knowledge in extreme situations. Every decision had a direct impact on people’s lives, and it was precisely this responsibility that showed me how crucial a strong mental structure is. During this time, I not only developed surgical precision, but also the ability to remain focused and strategic even under enormous stress.

2018 – Successful conclusion

After successfully completing my specialist training in neurosurgery – a significant milestone after years of intensive learning, numerous operations and countless hours in the operating room. But with graduation also came a new realization: my fascination with the brain went far beyond surgical procedures.
I began to look more closely at the mental processes that control our decision-making, emotions and cognitive performance. I realized that true excellence consists not only of specialist knowledge, but also of the ability to optimize one’s own thinking in a targeted manner.

I wanted to understand how people can truly realize their potential – not just in medicine, but in all areas of life. This realization became the cornerstone of my further journey: the combination of neuroscience, leadership and high performance.
